The goal of our project „Visegrad Festival of Literature” is to promote the idea of the Visegrad Group and to create a common space of cultural exchange and European integration. The Festival will give its participants an opportunity to experience the richness of Slovak, Czech and Hungarian culture. Main events of the Festival are literary meetings, musical performances and exhibitions.

The project will last from July 2104 till June 2015. The main theme of the Festival will be contemporary Czech, Slovak and Hungarian literature The Festival will start in Autumn 2014:

  • 22-24 September – The Festival of Slovak Literature

  • 20-22 October – The Festival of Hungarian Literature

  • 24-26 November – The Festival of Czech Literature

Planned events are: literary meetings, lectures, exhibitions, movie showings and musical performances.

The integral part of our Festival will be an international Polish-Czech-Slovak-Hungarian competition for children and young people (including those with disabilities), which will start in October 2014 and will finish in May 2015. The goal of the competition will be to create a book with engaging story and beautiful illustrations. The participants of the competition will be Polish, Slovak and Czech library patrons, schoolchildren (elementary, middle school) and young people from special purpose schools and education centers. Each partner will held the first part of the competition and the final, international part will take place in Bielsko-Biala. The Award ceremony will be held on 28 May 2015
